Earthly Angels

Amid the numbness and the chaos,
Angels soon appear.
Family and friends surround
With words she needs to hear.

“You’re really smart.” “You have great skills.”
“You’ll beat this, we feel sure.”
“We’ll help you any way we can.”
“We know you’ll find a cure.”

She needs a cure to heal the sickness
Down within her soul…
The doubts and fears are cutting deep
To sever what was whole.

To live requires money,
And that requires a job.
The stress is overwhelming…
Much like a frenzied mob.

The angels offer hugs and love
And practical advice.
God bless the earthly angels
Who uplift in times of strife.

  1. You never know when you might be entertaining angels, unaware! And they are truly everywhere in the most remarkable guises and places. Your heart has found the right place in which to rest for a while. BTW, would you please send me your snail-mail address? You can send it via e-mail at calhounpaula@ymail.com I have a little something you might enjoy – and don’t worry – it’s no big deal!
