Obsessed With the Weather

Okay – yes – I am obsessed with the weather right now.  Besides the fact that the temperature is bone-chilling, and the snow and ice have kept me off the roads for days so I can’t go anywhere, and the news and weather reports are constant reminders of the terribly yucky weather – now we are supposed to get 6-12 more inches of snow in my area of Oklahoma.

As you may recall, this is how the outside of my house looked on Tuesday after the snow stopped falling and blowing.

Then I shoveled and cleared some of the snow so that I had a good path from the front door to the car.  But I didn’t get pictures before more snow came and covered up the lovely path I had made.  You can see the path (sort of).

After I finished shoveling and clearing yesterday, my front yard looked like this.

Okay!  Okay!  It wasn’t actually me who cleared all of the snow.  The sun’s rays did most of it.

Here’s what it looked like before I did my part.  You can see just the edge of the big mound of snow in front of the car between the car and the house, and you can’t see the snow on the other side of the car where the sun doesn’t hit.

Now, if they would just get the streets cleared.  But wait – since they’re predicting more snow and ice, that probably won’t happen.

Sigh. . .

On the positive side – I have heat, my roof hasn’t fallen in (yet), and I have power so I can still work.  Plus – I still have coffee and chocolate –

mmmmm – two of my other obsessions.

Oh, yes!! Speaking of water running – I have had my faucets dripping since the temperature dropped below freezing. I’m afraid my water bill is going to be horrendous!
